Last month marks one year since the Bercow 10 Years on report was published. This allows a time to reflect on what has been achieved and the work that still needs to continue.
The Bercow: Ten Years On report, (March 2018), reviewed support for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in England. The report highlighted an inequitable and inaccessible system and made 47 recommendations to national leaders. Significant progress has been made over the last 12 months but there is much more still to do.
RCSLT and ICAN are encouraging us all to #SpeakUpforSLCN and #SpeakUPforCommunication. There’s already been lots of activity on twitter and I look forward to seeing further updates.
More information about the report can be found here.
